Intro

Imagine a client who approached your architectural firm with a dream to put down roots in the desert. Yes, the desert, with its beauty and power and ancient landscape. Here you need to live in comfort, but at the same time this house should be part of the desert ecosystem. It should not disturb the process of unity with nature even in this hash environment.
Today we want to show you this amazing project – the dream of any visualization studio we are lucky enough to work for. This amazing architectural project was designed by Israeli architect Yehonatan Bar.
We have done a lot of work and here is the result of our joint project.

Concept

As conceived by Yehonatan, the house was to become part of the concept of the ecological state – the Mojave Desert in North America. It should be a pleasant and comfortable living environment, but all this in an area primarily characterized by difficult climatic conditions.

For the effective implementation of such a project, Jonathan developed many architectural, design, and engineering solutions. He used the principles of passive solar design, which means that optimal shading and natural ventilation were designed depending on the location of the house and the change of seasons.

The sparse supply of water in this area is drawn from the rooftops and from there into a large pool in the courtyard. The cold air above the water cools the rest of the house.

He also used design principles and building materials that aimed at creating significant thermal mass – they are designed to balance the temperature in the building. It is especially effective at significant temperature differences between day and night and is therefore ideal for building in desert areas.

The purpose of the visualization

Yehonatan needed beautiful architectural renderings for several purposes:

  1. Using photorealistic computer graphics, the designer wanted to immerse the client in the atmosphere of the project and show what his dream home would look like in reality.
  2. Demonstration of Jonathan’s capabilities as an architect and designer
  3. Marketing materials for Jonathan’s website and social networks

References and links

The brief is an important part of any 3D architectural visualization project. The better the task is done, the easier it is to ensure fast work and timely results. The brief that Yehonatan sent us was top-notch. It included all the information that helped us imagine the exterior and interior design, environment, and atmosphere that needed to be recreated in 3D architectural renderings. We received a Sketchup model, references from the Internet for similar projects, and links to furniture sets and decorative items. Let’s look at some of these materials.

Atmosphere References

These are wonderful references that perfectly convey the atmosphere of the place, from which it became clear that it would not just be a desert atmosphere, but filled with the spirit of calmness, relaxation, a lot of characteristic greenery, and large stones, rocks, and soil.

To explain the aesthetics of the residence, the designer sent us some photos of the buildings that inspired him. As you can see, they all have laconic shapes, clean lines, and a modern minimalist design.

Sketchup model

Sketch drawings depicting the entire complex and its interiors were the main reference points in the brief. These sketches helped us understand the geometry, proportions, and placement of objects in the scenes. In addition, the model made in Sketchup already contained a set of projections personally selected by Jonathan.

Here are the projections that Jonathan chose:

However, not all were used in the project. In the first stage, together with Jonathon, we chose projections that represent design the best in terms of composition. During the process, we moved the camera online until we found the optimal angle of view of the residence.

Links to construction materials

As a main material for the walls construction Yehonatan chose a special material – Rammed Earth Walls. It is a traditional technique of building walls from natural raw materials like earth, chalk, lime and gravel which will be in harmony with the environment. Yehonatan also noted that concrete and metal like Corten steel will be used in the construction.

Modeling

After our CG artist reviewed the brief, he began to create preliminary sketches. First of all, he rebuilt the entire model of the future building based on the model that we received. Sketchup models are poorly adapted for importing into professional programs such as 3d max and does not allow applying high-quality textures to them. We also faced another problem, because the planes intersected with each other.

As a result, a new model and a landscape were created, for further use.

Test light and ambient light

At this stage, we presented Yehonatan with sketches of lighting for all scenes based on the references we received at an early stage. Yehonatan liked the evening soft light, but later, in the project timeline, he changed the settings a little for a better perception. Here are some comments that Yehonatan wrote in the comments to the sketch and sent references to the surrounding landscape and backgrounds surrounding the residence.

Our specialist corrected the scene according to the comments. He presented an updated sketch including a landscape solution and a background.

Yehonatan liked the material in general, here are some of his comments:

  1. Correct the shape of the rocks to improve the composition, balance and emphasise the shape of the house, since the rocks cover part of the house.
  2. Change the light to a more “warm honey orange”.
  3. Change plants in some places to make it more diverse.
  4. Change some exterior and interior details of the house.
  5. Change the pathway of the house to a more natural form.
  6. Change the shape of the pool in the part where the water flowed over the edge to the pool.

It was decided to make an evening view as well to show the lighting of the house from the inside. This decision was taken to emphasise the exterior lights of the outdoor fireplaces and make the picture more romantic.

The artist made the edits, Yehonatan approved the result and here is the result of our joint efforts

Final Renders

Interiors

After finishing the visualization of the exterior of the house, on which the main materials and objects were approved, our 3D artist added furniture and decor to the interior of the house.

The client liked the camera angles and the overall composition, but asked for some corrections. Exactly this:

  1. Place a small desert-style tree in the patio
  2. Fix the bronze material on the lamp to make it look more realistic
  3. Change the location of objects and remove some of them
  4. Make colors less saturated overall

Our CG specialist made all the adjustments and then we rendered the images at the final 3.5k resolution. Here are the results of the interior 3D rendering.

Summing up

Don’t you think that the residence will become an ideal place for living, working and relaxing for the customer’s family? Can you feel the warmth and roughness of large stones just by looking at these images? And hear the soothing desert night.

If so, then we did a good job. After all, showing the soul of a design is just as important as its technical details, and just as difficult. We have sincerely put our heart and soul into each of these beautiful architectural renderings. And we can’t wait to see this fantastic residence when it’s built!

It has been a great pleasure to work with Yehonatan for our team. We liked his professional approach to work, crazy creativity, attention to detail, organization in work and sense of humor. We are very proud to be a part of this grandiose and absolutely amazing project. And we can’t wait to see pictures of the residence when it’s built.

Top 5 bathroom trends for 2022

Intro

Despite the fact that we spend much less time in the bathroom than in the rest of the apartment, the thoughtful design of the bathroom is as important as the living room or kitchen. From an aesthetic point of view, the bathroom can perform different functions: invigorate and cheer you up in the morning or relax in the evening after a busy day. These problems can be solved both with the help of decoration and with the help of lighting.

In this article, we have collected for you the main trends in the in 2022 based on some interesting bathroom visualization projects we have done for our clients.

1. Environmental friendliness

More and more people are striving for reasonable consumption and an environmentally friendly lifestyle. The trend is reflected in the design of bathrooms, with organic and sustainable materials in the forefront, as well as sanitary ware with energy and water saving modes.

For the David Collins Architectural Bureau from Israel, we created this visualization of a bathroom. Here is the final result of our work, the visualization of an eco-friendly bathroom

2. Contribution to comfort

At the peak of popularity will be ergonomic things and solutions that simplify human life. Touchless faucets reduce the risk of bacteria transmission, special surface coatings on sanitary ware repels dirt, and the perfect bathroom cabinet should open with just one touch. Comfort can be traced in every detail – from the thoughtful arrangement of plumbing and furniture to the presence of “smart” accessories (water leakage sensors), with which the use of the bathroom becomes as convenient as possible.

Furniture for a modern bathroom should combine functionality and beauty.
David Colins architects has created a bathroom that will never go out of style.

3. Refreshed minimalism

Minimalism will not lose its leading position in the list of trends. There is a logical explanation for this: people want to take a break from the visual noise and feel complete peace of mind. In 2022, it is recommended to design simple and bright interiors, focusing on the visual increase in space. However, do not forget about practicality – clear forms are combined with well-thought-out functionality. We created a series of hyper-realistic visualizations for our client from New York, that combine all the recognizable features of the style.

4. Supremacy of the Feelings

Color, shape and textures affect how a person feels. In the new year, rounded shapes will be at the peak of popularity, emphasizing the atmosphere of tranquility, as well as discreet warm shades. If you don’t like flashy details, look at tone-on-tone designs – furniture-colored handles and monochrome accessories that blend into the room.

We created this bathroom in Germany as part of a project for the talented French-Israeli designer Natalie Levon. Thanks to the visualization, she was able to decide on the colors and finishes. The result is amazing!

5. Decoration

It is not enough to buy high-quality sanitary ware and choose beautiful finishing materials. The details create the atmosphere, so you need to select them thoroughly. Since minimalism is in trend, don’t add a lot of decors, but match every detail with style.

Exquisite furniture design will transform even a small room. This bathroom was designed by Einav Rosiano.
The finish is made of Italian porcelain stoneware, the countertop is natural marble. With the help of light shades, it was possible to visually increase the space of the bathroom.

3D visualization will allow you to plan the bathroom without errors. You need to know the exact dimensions of the bathroom, the placement of the sanitary ware, and a series of ceramic tiles for the walls and floor are required in order to make a visualization. 3-5 angles are enough for a full understanding of the bathroom design.

intro

3D visualization is widely used by interior designers, and for good reason. This is the best way to show your projects to clients. But the benefits of 3D rendering don’t stop there. Stunning CG images can also serve as high-end marketing tool for professional designers.

Designers work with studios to get photorealistic representations of every area in the house, including, of course, the kitchen. For most homeowners, this is the most visited room. This is the place where people go in the morning to have a cup of coffee, and where the whole family gathers in the evenings. Here people have interesting conversations over good food, share stories, drink and talk about daily events. This room is the heart of any home. So, demonstrating the overall advantages of a kitchen interior is crucial. This is where kitchen design rendering comes in handy.

Homeowners want their kitchen to be not only stylish but also supremely practical. They need to see that the space is designed to their liking. With 3D visualization, they can make sure that all their requirements are met. With 3D visualizations, an interior designer can easily prove to homeowners that their kitchen will be beautiful, functional, and tailored to their preferences. Want to see how it works in practice? Let’s take a look at 6 impressive examples of kitchen design visualizations made by our studio.

1. Classic Italian kitchen interior

Even though our client is from Canada, his work is usually inspired by American classics. But this kitchen is decorated in a classic Italian style. The designer asked us to recreate the atmosphere of a country house for an elderly couple with traditional tastes. Our 3D artist brought the idea to life using luxurious elements such as balustrades and capitals, that would create this mood.

All the details in this kitchen design complement each other perfectly. Exquisite floor tiles accentuate the kitchen island area, while modern bar stools make the interior less heavy. Glass pendants make the atmosphere airy.

Despite the small size, there was enough space for everything. There is enough space for storing groceries, kitchen equipment, dishes, and other kitchen utensils. If the owners of the house decide to arrange a big family holiday, each guest will feel comfortable in this place.

2. Elegant minimalist kitchen

This is a rendering of a kitchen in the penthouse for our client in Ramat Gan. The design is made in a minimalistic style, functional and harmonious lines. All design elements match thanks to the monochrome palette, continuous lines, texture, and adapted lighting. The kitchen occupies the entire wall and separates 2 common spaces. The kitchen is quite large and it was important to show how it fits in with the rest of the space. Together with the designer, we experimented a lot with the color scheme, and in the end we settled on a combination of ebony, brass and black marble. Built-in appliances and an induction oven make them not too noticeable, which fits into the concept of the kitchen

3. Modern chalet style kitchen

This kitchen is part of a small private home in northern Israel. Its owners are a young couple who love to travel and collect souvenirs, various vases and figurines from the places they visit. Their favorite room is the kitchen. The selected interior design solutions allow to use of space more rationaly.

The couple wanted to keep the original colors and the ceiling beams. They wanted the house to look like a modern chalet. To combine the two styles, the designer chose to pair oak parquet with a smooth concrete floor.

The couple don’t have children yet, but they love spending time in the kitchen after work. They cook dinner and have a glass of wine and talk about their daily life. The entire kitchen is designed in light colors that are pleasing to the eye.

4. Modern kitchen design in monochrome colors

When our 3D visualization company received the brief, the condition was clearly stated by the customer, which was that the kitchen should be modern and in monochrome colors. Most of the design of the kitchen is done in gray color, which creates an atmosphere of elegance and sophistication. To add brightness to the room, our artist made the table top and island white.

As a result, together with the designer, we created a perfect, smooth and clean kitchen design. Everything about this space is light and simple, which is what makes this kitchen so appealing. The marble of the floor is a few shades darker than the colors of the kitchen and harmonizes well with the light tones. To add accents to the design of the kitchen, we decided to add orange velvet chairs.

5. Modern Eclectic

These are visualizations of a kitchen with a warm and pleasant atmosphere that invites sharing and cooking together. The overall idea of the kitchen is to combine modern, rustic and industrial elements to create an eclectic look.

With the help of visualization, we filled the kitchen with textured materials, with the added effect of playful and modern lamps. The design of the open island is in the loft style, which makes the interior even more diverse. Its functionality gives free access to all accessories at once, which makes it similar to professional kitchens.

6. Stylish kitchen in modern Provence style

A small kitchen can be not only beautiful, but comfortable and functional. It is planned to have a lot of storage space for various things. Designer Nadine Cohen gave this kitchen a touch of Provence style. She used the features of this style, but modernized it significantly by using modern materials. She added shiny brass handles for an exclusive look. Our visualization had several important tasks. First, to show how different materials are combined and create the right mood. The second task is a little more difficult. Nadine’s customers is 60 years old couple. The head of the family, Moshe, is disabled, so it was decided that the height of the island would be the same as the height of the table. This was done so that the head of the family could have free access to it in a wheelchair if he wants to watch TV or chat with his family over dinner in the kitchen.

The interior design industry is very competitive, and the statistics can prove it. There are thousands of interior design companies competing for the clients’ attention. In this environment, the designer must find a way to stand out and do the marketing of their services effective. In this case, even the most talented professional will compete with those who promote themselves smartly.

How to win this game? Launching a mass marketing campaign is the answer. This interior design company needs to develop eye-catching visuals that appear on different channels and be sure to receive new images to update promotional materials periodically, which is, however, not as easy. First of all, designers need already completed projects to take first-class photographs of them. What if you have no completed projects yet?

Where to get an image for an advertising campaign in this case? In such a situation, an interior design company should opt for the services of an architectural visualization studio. 3D rendering allows you to show the implementation of your projects that are not completed yet or completed but need some editing. In this way, the design studio can get you a lot of beautiful images you can use for different marketing purposes. The fair question arises: how to use this visual content as efficiently as possible? This article offers five ways of successful marketing with 3D visualization!

1. 3D visualization in social media

Their interior design experts and architects must engage on social media to promote themselves as artists and successfully market their services. They need well-designed business profiles on popular platforms like Facebook and Instagram and specialized ones like Pinterest. They all reveal great opportunities to find new customers and generate brand awareness. They must ensure that their profiles are active and contain many great images of their work on the pages. If the page is not regularly updated, subscribers will forget about it quite soon. Thus, using beautiful images determines the brand’s success on social media.

Suppose there are no new photos of finished designs. In that case, specialists can order high-quality computer graphics renderings to show their work still in development or visualise their ideas. It helps to sustain activity in profile even when you don’t have newly finished projects for a while. In addition to demonstrating new concepts, you can use 3D visualizations for other types of content. For example, you can use interior design 3D visualization to illustrate home improvement tips that the expert wants to share with his audience. In this case, the 3D visualization of designers’ sketches or drawings will impact the audience more than random pictures from photo stocks.

2. Mailing and messaging

Mailing remains one of the most effective ways to deliver promotional materials. Today’s most popular channels are a classic email newsletter, messaging in Facebook Messenger, or WhatsApp. People prefer the mailing method as a less intrusive way to get information about products and services than other common tactics. This preference is valid for all industries, including interior design and architecture. The effectiveness of mailing is also represented by the fact that contacts on a designer’s mailing list are usually the ones who already have subscribed to it. This means that they already have shown some interest in the services offered by the interior design company. And to make people interested in your services, you should give them catchy, exciting, vivid images.

In this field, interior design or architecture visualization increases the marketing effort’s effectiveness. CG images are great illustrating material for promotional emails such as brand welcome emails, brand history articles, regular newsletters, etc. The design company may receive specific CG images for some of the newsletter series to ensure they address the topic well. And, as mentioned, they can get as many photos as they need. Moreover, since it is possible to get designs in various styles with any furniture and decor, it will be easy to customize the messages to suit the recipients’ preferences.

3. Company website

To ensure that the company’s website brings a lot of quality results, it must stand out with helpful content and a high rank on Google. Using 3D visualization is a great way to achieve these goals.

Visualization allows you to get new photos without waiting for projects to complete. You can regularly upload new high-quality images to the site’s gallery. 3D visualization can be used not only in the portfolio but also on other site pages, for example, in a blog. Having fresh content helps a site get the attention of Google, boosting its rankings. It also keeps the site audience up to date with the expert’s professional progress. You can see an example of this on our blog…

4. Printed promotional materials

3D visualization is beneficial not only for the website and social media. You can also use it effectively in offline promotional materials. These can be flyers, business cards, brochures, etc. 3D visualization allows companies to create first-class printed materials with high-quality images in any style and for any interiors or exteriors and dramatically helps the brand’s marketing success.

For example, you can use high-quality brochures or large, high-resolution banners with attractive designs for promotion at trade shows or fairs. They will help businesses stand out due to their quality and the variety of creative ideas they showcase.

5. Publications in professional media

Publishing in magazines, professional websites, and blogs is a great way to build a high reputation and brand awareness in the interior design industry and generate new potential customers. These include

When published in these media, the designer can illustrate their knowledge with photorealistic 3D visualization of their work. 3D rendering is a good option because if the expert has some exclusive ideas that have not yet been brought to life, he will be able to show them in realistic CG images.

In addition, visualization comes in handy when you need to change the image to suit the magazine’s requirements quickly. For example, if higher resolution images are required, the design professional may ask a 3D visualization studio to provide pictures of the required quality. Or, as an example, if you need to focus on one of the details of the scene, 3D artists will make it easy because they already have ready-made 3D interior scenes that were used to create original materials. Thus, they can render new 2D images with modified characteristics quickly.

Interior design 3D rendering can be helpful for a designer’s advertising campaign in a variety of ways. It enhances social media and email marketing and helps the company’s website rank higher on Google. You can also use CGI to develop high-quality print materials.

Do you want to make your advertising campaign unforgettable and stand out? We will help you. Contact us and get professional services and high-quality results in a short time.

5 signs that you need 3D visualization for your project

5 signs that you need 3D visualization for your project

1. You need to start delegating

The situation is familiar to almost everyone; you are working hard, and no end to this working in sight. You have no time left for sleep, socializing, or spending time with loved ones. You are in a bad mood, and your performance is declining. Learn to delegate!

There is no need to do 3D visualization of your project yourself to delve into all the features of complex computer programs. Our specialists can do it for you quickly and efficiently, considering all your technical specifications. As a result, the project would be completed on time, and your client would be delighted!

2. You need to help your client visualize your future project or product

Imagine a client looking at your freehand drawing or a sketch made in a SketchUp or another amateur visualization program who does not quite understand how the future result will look. Clients like him are not rare. He lacks spatial imagination, so he cannot simply visualize how your ideas will look in an authentic interior. As practice shows, 90% of the client needs realistic 3D images to understand what they are getting in the end.

3. You believe that precision is the key to success

When you need to repair an item or a detail, sometimes you receive an unwanted result. This is due to the fact that the repairer did not take into account how the selected materials were combined with each other in terms of texture and color.

A 3D model of the interior helps to avoid problems like this, it shows the smallest details: from the texture to the color and style of every item in your project. Plus, all the furniture in your project is exactly the way it is in reality, with no “approximations” and inaccuracies.

4. You are thinking about expanding your portfolio

We are often approached by designers who are just starting to develop their clientele. In most cases, they do not have big projects in their arsenal that they can be proud of. But they have a lot of enthusiasm and a desire to create. The market is quite competitive. In order for a novice designer to be able to capture clients’ attention and receive orders, just having a specialized education is not enough. It sometimes takes more than two years of work on one project, you have to wait for its completion to take a photo for your portfolio.

And here we can help! We can visualize your project in 3D according to your drawings. And then you can beautiful pictures in your portfolio immediately! For a reasonable price, you get a high-quality presentation of your ideas. The presence of a 3D project will also help strengthen your reputation and convince the buyer of the service that he is dealing with a professional who understands him perfectly.

5. You don't have time to master 3D software

We believe that everyone has to do their job. The designer develops a project to the smallest detail and looks for interesting solutions. And the visualizer creates high-quality photographs and illustrates the planned redevelopment or repair of a building. You do not have to master several visualization programs yourself. Thus, you will be able to devote more time to your work or just relax in order to gain the energy and inspiration to bring the project to life.
